It’s beginning to look like Christmas around here….

Today I pulled the Christmas  decorations out of the crawl space.

Alex groaned.   He usually does that, because it means bringing boxes up and down the steps for me.  (I’m afraid to count how many boxes there are.)

I actually think he just does that to tease me.  He will always do it when I ask, he just groans first.  Chris would do the same thing.  It’s like a tradition or something around here.

I’m having to readjust where I’m putting some things because of (cough) mischievousness cats, but I did manage to get through at least seven or eight boxes.  There are more pieces that I probably won’t be putting out, and I’ve yet to put out the North Pole Series, however, here are the twinkling lights at night.  They just make me smile.  I can’t help it.

  1. Oh, I loved these photos – the little villages look so real! Wonderful, wonderful… we did some decorating today – my husband worked on getting a train track working – gonna put it around the bottom of the tree (I think!). We have a table in the hall where we have a village scene.
Beautiful, Denise – and I love the pretend snow!

    1. Would you believe that I don’t even have all the houses up? I should be ashamed to admit that. I have enough to have a whole mountain/woods display, but I moved furniture around and so I don’t have the table space to put them out, yet alone the cats would get into them. I’m also trying to figure out where to put the North Pole series. I cleared off some shelves in the kitchen, but just didn’t put them up yet. I was tired…took a break today from it. You’d think it was major work! Haha. You will have to take a picture of your village. Oh, you will laugh at this, one year I even got a cassette tape of “village sounds” to play. I was “all up in it there for a year or two”. I’ve settled down a little. 🙂

      1. Love the village sounds! What a great idea! As to our village scene – it, too, is not yet completely set up. My youngest got sidetracked and left it for another day…. of course, three days later and it’s not done!!! Ah, well – it’s good to “get all up in there”. That’s a great place to be (so embrace it!)

  2. i remember that you wrote about this pieces in a past post…they look very pretty now that they are all lit up
